Chennai, Oct 17 (UNI) The opening day of the monsoon session of the Tamil Nadu Assembly was marred by en masse eviction of the Opposition AIADMK members today, when they tried to raise the issue of yesterday's intrusion into Party Supremo J Jayalalithaa's Poes Garden residence.
When the House re-assembled after a 15-minute adjournment, after taking up obituary references in respect of former prime minister Chandrasekhar and few former members of the Assembly, AIADMK Whip K A Sengottaiyan raised the issue and said this was the third instance of breach of security at the residence of the Leader of the Opposition after the DMK came to power.
This clearly showed that the DMK Government had deliberately scaled down the security cover for Ms Jayalalithaa, who was under Z-Plus security as she was facing threat to her life from the LTTE, because she was instrumental in getting the LTTE banned in India.
Recalling the crack down launched by the AIADMK regime on Naxalites and pro-LTTE Tamil extremist organisations, Mr Sengottaiyan said the intruder, who managed to enter the house, was intercepted near the library on the first floor. As he did not give proper reply, he was handed over to the police.
