JPMorgan 3rd-quarter profit rises

New York, Oct 17: JPMorgan Chase&Co Inc said on Oct 17 third-quarter profit rose despite a $1.3 billion write-down from its investment banking business, including sharp reductions in the value of leveraged loans.

The third-largest U.S. bank reported net income of $3.4 billion, or 97 cents a share, up from $3.3 billion, or 92 cents a share, a year earlier.
