Jamia Professor nominated as Fellow of the National Academy

New Delhi, Oct 17 (UNI) Jamia Millia Islamia's Prof Faizan Ahamd has been nominated as Fellow of the National Academy (FNA) by the Indian National Science Academy.

The Academy has nominated Prof Ahamd, a Director of the Centre for the Inter-Disciplinary Research in Basic Science in the University, in recognition of his contributions to problems relating to protein folding and stabilisation.

The study assumes significance as ''misfolded proteins'' can lead to several diseases like Alzheimer's and Mad Cow disease.
