Gold rises further; Silver eases

Mumbai, Oct 17: Spot Gold rose further by Rs 35 per ten gm from its previous close of Rs 9,715 because of better buying support while Silver eased by Rs 110 per kg from its previous close of Rs 18,470, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said.

Traders received reports from Tokyo market that Gold inched up on Wednesday, hovering under a 28-year high marked the previous day, underpinned by firm oil prices and geopolitical tensions, while Tokyo futures retreated from a 23-year high.

Silver traded at USD 13.63/13.66 an ounce, compared with USD 13.57/13.62.

Following are the opening rates of spot silver and gold: Silver (per kg).999 fineness grade: Rs 18,360, Gold (per 10 gm): Gold 99.5 purity standard mint : Rs 9,750, Gold 99.9 purity pure Gold Rs 9,805.
