Goa Govt to institute medals for outstanding home guards

Panaji, Oct 17 (UNI) In a bid to further encourage Home Guards as an auxiliary police force, the Goa government has decided to institute the outstanding cadets of the year awards on a regular basis.

The awards, to be given in recognition of the cadet's devotion to duty and gallantry, would be presented in the form of medals on December 19, celebrated in Goa as 'Liberation Day', from this year, according to an official communique.
