Goa Govt signs agreement with GAIL for promotion of use of gas

Panaji, Oct 17 (UNI) The Goa government today signed an agreement with the Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) for setting up of a joint venture for a natural gas/RNLG distribution network to meet the domestic requirement in the state.

Gail's executive director J Wason and Chief Electrical Engineer of the government Nirmal Braganza signed the agreement in the presence of Chief Minister Digambar Kamat and Power Minister Aleixo Sequeira among others.

Promotion of usage of natural gas was part of efforts of the state government to cut carbondioxide emission. The authorities desire to use the gas in power generatoon, fertiliser, transport, domestic and other sectors.
