Gear up for Assembly elections; Farooq to NC cadres

Srinagar, Oct 17 (UNI) National Conference, (NC), the main opposition party in Jammu and Kashmir has asked its cadres to gear up for the coming assembly elections in the state, due in September-October next year.

Addressing a public gathering at his Gupkar residence here, Dr Abdullah the chief patron of NC appealed to the party office-bearers and workers, to start making preparations for the ensuing assembly elections in the state, likely to be held in September-October 2008.

The former Chief Minister also directed to his party cadres to reach out to the people with his party (NC) ''Naya Kashmir'' programme.

He also appealed the people to approach the agencies concerned, for enlisting their names in the voter lists.
