CSB appoints Wipro Infotech as System Integrator

Chennai, Oct 17 (UNI) Kerala-based Catholic Syrian Bank (CSB) today announced that it had appointed Wipro Infotech as the System Integrator for its various banking operations.

Talking to newspersons here, Bank Chairman R Venkataraman said "we have engaged Wipro Infotech as the system integrator for our core banking initative in view of its extensive techno domain expertise in establishing Wide Area Network (WAN) and Data Centre Integration.

"We have seperate tie-ups with BSNL for connectivity and VSNL for data centre facility", he added.

Mr Venkatraman said Wipro would be responsible for provisioning, system integration and round the clock management of the entire underlying infrastructure of the data centre.

Wipro Infotech Chief Executive K S Viswanathan said "we will ensure that the newly implemented technology was harnessed in totality and we are confident that the bank will benefit hugely from our expertise".

According to bank officials, as on September 30, the bank's deposits stood at Rs 5134 crore and gains Rs 4748 crore as on March three.

The CRR ratio assessed by the bank, as on March 31, was 9.58 per cent, as against nine per cent stipulated by RBI.
