Shivpuri, MP, Oct 17 (UNI) Two sisters -- who were brought here for sale -- have been rescued from a gang of abductors by a couple of sword-wielding women, police said.

The accused abducted the victims from Sagar and held them hostage at a flat in Kakarwaya area near this district.

The sisters are residents of Sagar's Bada Bazaar and are the daughters of a labourer whose wife is mentally unsound. About a fortnight back, the victims suffered persistent fever. Two men approached the family and took away the sisters on the pretext of providing treatment.

The victims managed to escape yesterday but were pursued by the gang's three female members. The sisters reached the farmhouse of Sardar Raghuveer Singh where they pleaded with his daughters Arvindjeet and Atendra Kaur to protect them. The accused fled after being challenged by the two Sikh ladies.
