Mumbai, Oct 17 (UNI) The civic administration will take action against all Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)-run and private hospitals, which have illegal constructions on their premises.

The decision was taken today in the Standing Committe meeting after the Leader of the House Sunil Prabhu raised a point of order about the illegal constructions and high charges demanded in Bombay Suburban Electric Corporation (BSES) hospital in Andheri East.

BSES is a BMC-owned hospital that was adopted by Brahmakumari Trust a few years ago. It has raised an extra floor in the building by flouting all the BMC laws.

Rajul Patel of Shiv Sena said the hospital charges exhorbitant amount from patients and is functioning like a private hospital.

Standing Committee chairman Ravindra Waikar and Municipal Commissioner Jairaj Phatak said an action will be taken on the illegal floor at BSES hospital and on all hospitals that have altered the plans by flouting BMC rules.
