Army jawan arrested for killing wife

Jammu, Oct 17: Police have arrested an Army jawan for allegedly burning his wife to death at Amb Gharota here on city outskrits, official sources today said.

Sepoy Kala Ram of Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI) had set his wife Sharda Devi afire after after dousing her with kerosene oil at their residence in Manji Kot, Amb Gharota, on October 12, sources said.

The victim, in the last statement to the police, had accused her husband of torturing and setting her on fire after sprinkling kerosene at their residence.

The Army jawan, who was absconding after committing crime, was posted at Digiana, eight kms from Jammu. UNI
