New Delhi, Oct 17 (UNI) The abatement from chilly weather in Delhi since yesterday continued today with the minimum staying at yesterday's normal level of 18.6 degrees Celsius.

The influence of an upper air circulation in the area also led to a drop in maximum temperature to 31 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal.

Weathermen said the abatement in chill was temporary and that chilly weather could return to the city by this weekend.

''The Upper air circulation over Delhi which had led to a rise in minimum temperature yesterday has moved away and now lies over Uttar Pradesh. So, the coming days could again witness a fall in minimum temperatures,''the weathermen said.

The Met office has forecast a mainly clear sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with likelihood of a fall in night temperatures.

They have forecast a drop in minimum temperature to 17 degrees Celsius tomorrow.
