Woman IPS' brother shoots self

Lucknow, Oct 16 (UNI) The brother of a woman Indian Police Officer (IPS) today allegedly shot himself in Mahangar area here today.

Official sources said this evening, Digvijay Singh (28), the brother of IPS officer Laxmi Singh, shot himself this morning at the house of Phoolmati Chauhan.

He was battling for life at the trauma centre, sources added.

The reason behind him taking the extreme step was yet to be ascertained.

Some times back, Chennai Police had arrived in Lucknow to interrogate Digvijay in connection with a case.

Ms Singh is presently posted as SP Farrukhabad.

Investigations continue.
