Smuggler held, illicit weapons seized

Mahoba, Oct 16 (UNI) Police today claimed they have busted an arms smuggling racket and arrested one of its members alongwith almost six revolvers and one pistol here.

Police Superintendent Gyan Singh said smuggler Ram Kishore was arrested from Panvadi area on the Jhansi-Mirzapur national highway late last night.

On interrogation the accused confessed his syndicate was involved in smuggling weapons from Maharashtra and he used to supply illicit arms in the district.

Investigations were underway.
