Prohibitory orders clamped in Ujjain

Ujjain, Oct 16 (UNI) Prohibitory orders under section 144 CrPC have been clamped in two police station areas of this temple town following tension after a clash between two communities injuring at least six people, police said today.

The situation was under control and police patrolling intensified after both groups clashed late last night, police sources said.

The agitated mob resorted to stone-pelting at each other after one person was knocked down by a scooterist near a Durga festival pandal. Prohibitory olrders had been imposed in Mahakal and Kharakuan police station areas to bring situation under control.

A meeting of the peace committee was also held, the sources added.
