Political parties embark on 'Yathras' in Karnataka
Bangalore, Oct 16 (UNI) With Bharatiya Janata Party, which was denied to form first-ever government in the South was on 'Janagagrithi Yathra' to explain the alleged 'betrayal' by its coalition partner, the Congress and Janata Dal (S) also announced taking out 'Yathras' in Karnataka.
Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Mallikarjuna Kharge announced that his party would embark on a statewide 'Bus Yathra' to explain to the people on the'failure' of the coalition set up during last 20 months. The yatra would also highlight the 'unholy alliance between the BJP and JD(S) at the cost of welfare of the people at large, he told newsmen in Gulbarga today.
JD(S) leader and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy too did not lag behind and announced his intention to start a 'Paada yathra' intended to counter BJP's Janajagrithi Yathra. During his Padayathra from Bidar to Chamarajanagar, would highlight about the conspiracy hatched by BJP men to prevent Mr Yediyurappa from becoming Chief Minister of the State," he added. However, he was yet to fix the date for his Paadayatra.
