One dies in cracker explosion

Bhubaneswar, Oct 16 (UNI) At least one person was killed and four were injured in Astapraharajpur village under the Jajpur Police station in a blast in an illegal cracker manufacturing unit today.

Police said while the owner of the cracker unit died on the spot, his pregnant sister,three year old niece and two workers sustained severe burn injuries.

All the injured were admitted to the Jajpur district headquarter hospital.

Under the impact of the blast, the roof the building and two thatched houses closed to the building were totally damaged.

Police have registered a case.
