Nagpur, Oct 16 (UNI) Suspected Naxalites killed a young member of their own 'dalam' after he left to get married to a girl from the group in Gadchiroli district in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, police said today.

According to police, a group of 15 to 20 armed Naxalites went to the house of Kailas alias Raiju Dhisu Mohanda (23) in village Rengewahi in Etapalli tehsil of the district last night. They dragged Kailas and the girl he intended to marry, who was also with him at the time, outside the house and beat them, police added.

Later, they took Kailas and the girl to a nearby farm, and shot the boy in the head, killing him on the spot. They then fled from the spot, taking the girl with them.

Kailash and the girl, both working as members of the Surjagad dalam for the last year, wanted to get married. The two eloped to Rengawahi, where Kailas has his home, last afternoon, but the ultras chased them all the way, police added.

The ultras had earlier killed seven persons, including a police constable, in six different incidents in the district this month.
