Mizo hunters surrender before govt
Aizawl, Oct 16 (UNI) Mizoram chief secretary Haukhum Hauzel today handed over 'letters of appreciation' to 85 hunters, who laid down their arms during the Wildlife Week which was observed from October to 6.
Mr Hauzel also lauded the efforts of the Environment and Forest department, especially Dampa Tiger Reserve field officer V Lalfala and his staff in this regard.
About 85 hunters from villages surrounding the Dampa Tiger Reserve surrendered their guns before the forest department promising never to hunt again in the future.
