Heroin worth Rs 14cr seized on Pak border, smuggler killed

Amritsar, Oct 16 (UNI) The Border Security Force (BSF) today claimed to have killed a Pakistani drug courier and recovering heroin worth Rs 14 crore in the international market near Naushera Dhalla village close to the Indo-Pakistan border last night.

The officials said the alert BSF ambush parties opened fire on a group of intruders who had crossed the zero line into Indian territory. While one of the intruders, suspected to be a drug courier, was killed on the spot, the remaining managed to flee back into Pakistan.

The BSF later recovered 14 packets of the white powder, each weighing one kg. The killed courier had not been identified.

On the instructions of the BSF, the Punjab police has registered a case at the Serai Amanat Khan police station.
