GGH nurses stage demo

Puducherry, Oct 16 (UNI) Functioning of the Government General Hospital (GGH) here was affected as the nurses stayed away from work for two hours and held a demonstration in front of the hospital today to press their demands.

They were pressing for implementation of their 20-point charter of demands, including filling up of vacant posts and pay hike.

The nurses, who came for the first shift at 0730 hrs assembled in front of the hospital and those who finished their night shift joined them and raised slogans.

The nurses attended work after the stir was called off at 0930 hrs.
