FIR against 570 power thieves

Lucknow, Oct 16 (UNI) With the purpose of curbing power theft, enforcement teams of power corporation nabbed 1,515 power thieves last month.

Among these, FIRs were lodged against 570 persons and 120 persons were also arrested.

Meanwhile, power connection of 1,126 consumers were disconnected.

The power theft thus detected amounted to Rs 11.50 crore.

Rs 1.11 crore was collected through compounding, Rs 7.25 crore was collected on account of the collection of arrears and revenue fixation.
