Bareilly, Oct 16 (UNI) A case of Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) forging the signature of Uttar Pradesh chief minister for effecting his transfer has come to light.

IG Gurbachan Lal told UNI here today, Gautam Buddha Nagar district BSA Shailendra Tyagi, a native of Jyotiba Phule Nagar, was transferred to Moradabad as District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) principal.

However two months back, Tyagi -- through his contacts -- managed to get a letter issued from the state secretariat with the forged signature of the CM directing the concerned official to transfer him to Agra as a BSA.

On the basis of the forged letter, the then basic education department principal secretary Manoj Kumar transferred Tyagi to Agra as BSA. The accused subsequently joined his duty at Agra in August.

However, the forgery came to light following a CID probe and a case was registered at the Hazratganj police station, Lucknow in this regard.

Tyagi had also been suspended and is said to be absconding.

The IG has directed J P Nagar police superintendent Veena Mukesh to arrest the accused by October 24.

Investigations were on.
