Dalits attacked in MP

Shivpuri, MP, Oct 16 (UNI) Six dalits, including three women, were admitted to the District Hospital last evening after being allegedly attacked by more than half-a-dozen influential people -- armed with stabbing weapons -- for not obeying the latter's order to harvest crop in this district's Tudiyawad village, police said here today.

A case was registered under the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act against Yashpal, Shishupal, Inder, Kaptan, Chandrabhan, Kok Singh and Halke Yadav who were absconding.

The victims were Ramkali, Gorabai Jatav, Guddi Jatav, Lallu Jatav, Chintu Jatav and Bundel Jatav.
