Congress MLC, 15 others held

Hyderabad, Oct 16 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Mahila Congress President and MLC Ganga Bhavani, and 15 other women activists were arrested today in connection with the alleged attack on the house of TDP spokeswoman N Rajakumari here recently.

According to police, Ms Bhavani and others were arrested under sections 447 and 506 of IPC.

Later, the arrested were released on bail on personal surety.

Irked by objectional remarks against Chief Minister Y S Rajasekahara Reddy by Ms Rajakumari, the women Congress activists staged 'violent' protests outside the house of the TDP leader.
