Boy's death triggers tension at hospital

Vijayawada, Oct 16 (UNI) Tension prevailed at a corporate hospital here this morning, following the death of a boy due to alleged negligence of the doctors.

Police said the agitated relatives damaged furniture and window panes at the hospital.

The boy, S K Aslam (12), who underwent a surgery for appendicitis at a nursing home yesterday, was brought to the hospital after his situation worsened.

However, the condition of the boy further worsened and he breathed his last this morning.

Following the boy's death, his father, Kareem, alleged that the doctors at the hospital failed to treat him well and demanded the arrest of the doctor, who performed the surgery on his son at the nursing home.

Meanwhile, Hospital Doctor Ramanamurthy said the boy was brought to the hospital in a critical condition.

Though they attended to the boy immediately, his condition became critical, leading to death, he added.
