3G spectrum through auction, direct allottment

New Delhi, Oct 16 (UNI) Government today said the 3G spectrum will be auctioned or allotted directly.

''The 3G spectrum will be given either through auction or will be directly allotted,'' Telecom Secretary D S Mathur told reporters here on the sidelines of a conference.

All players will be allowed to bid for 3G services, he said adding that foreign players may also bid for the same.
