Warm welcome to wonder kid Budhia for joining DAV School

Bhubaneswar, Oct 15 (UNI) Wonder kid Budhia Singh was today given a warm welcome by the teachers and staff of the DAV Public School Chandrasekharpur as he stepped into the school to begin his study.

Budhia hit the headlines when he covered a distance of 65 km in 7 hours from Bhubaneswar to Puri in May 2,2006 and booked a place in the Limca Book of Record.

Budhia accompanied by his new Orissa government coach veteran Arun Das, mother Sukanti and officials of the Sports Hostel reached the School this morning.

The wonder kid took part in the morning prayer and looked confident while mixing with the students.

School sources said the class in which Budhia would study would be decided in a week by the teachers who would asses and take a decision in this regard.

Budhia had stopped going to BJB English medium school for the past three months as he left the Orissa Judo Association, run by his former coach and mentor Biranchi Das following a rift.

After his separation from the former coach who had adopted him, the wonder kid moved to a slum with his mother and sisters but later the government had got him admitted to the state run Sports Hostel and announced to bear all his expenses.
