Two women die in separate incidents in Bihar

Siwhar, Oct 15 (UNI) A woman was shot dead following a family feud, while another was killed and a minor girl injured by lightning in separate incidents in this district of north Bihar.

District Superintendent of Police (SP) Ajay Kumar said here today that one Sirija Devi (45) of Tazpur village was shot dead by one of her relatives following a dispute over the ownership of a pipal tree in her courtyard yesterday. Her husband received multiple injuries while trying to save her, the SP added.

While Sirija Devi died on the spot, her husband was admitted to a nearby hospital.

The assailant fled soon after the murder, the SP said, adding that a search was on to nab him.

In a separate incident at Kharwadak village, a woman was killed today when she was struck by lightning, while her 15-year-old daughter sustained severe burns and was admitted to the district hospital, the SP said.

Bodies of both the women had been sent for post mortem, he added.
