Baripada, Oct 15 (UNI) BJP national general secretary Vinay Katiyar today said his party would welcome nuclear agreement with the US provided the terms and conditions of the deal should be decided by India.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Katiyar alleged the UPA government wanted to thrive on falsehood and cautioned that in the past the governments led by Chowdhury Charan Singh, Devegowda, Chandrsekhar, and I K Gujral fell as they wanted to thrive on falsehood. The UPA government, the BJP leader predicted, would meet the same fate.

On the Ram Sethu controvery, Mr Katiyar made an oblique reference to UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi saying, the ''people in India wanted a Ram Rajya, and not a Rome Rajya.'' He also slammed the Centre for its step-motherly attitude in central fund allocations to the BJP ruled states.

He alleged that Several developmental projects including that of the ''Golden Quadrilateral'' national highway project that aimed at connecting East, West, North and South were stopped. He said the ''anti-farmer policy'' being pursued by the UPA government had forced the farmers to commit suicide and the workers were rendered jobless. There was also no incentive for the farmers, who fill up nation's food basket.

He indicated that the NDA will celebrate its 10th birth anniversary in a befitting manner in December this year. The details of the celebration will be chalked out in consultation with the coalition partners. In Orissa, the celebration will be observed jointly with the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), he added.

Mr Katiyar also addressed the partymen and functionaries of different frontal organisations and advised them to sink differences and prepare for a mid-term election.
