Assam Co discovers new oil reservoirs in Assam

Mumbai, Oct 15 (UNI) Assam Company, in association with its Canada-based operating partner, Canoro Resources, has discovered two new oil and gas reservoirs at Arakan in Assam.

In the basin of the north-east region of the country, the Company has found two reservoirs in Amguri-11 block with the capacity of over 1,200 barrels of oil equivalent (boe) per day. With these two new discoveries, the total oil and gas capacity of the Company increased up to 4,100 boe per day, the Company said here today in a statement.

Earlier, the Company had reported discovery of a well of 1,000 boe in the region of Amguri-10B block, located in the same region.

It also plans to expedite exploration in Amguri-12 block, which is believed to have much higher potential, the statement added.
