Shimoga, Karnataka, Oct 14 (UNI) Ruling out a 'remarriage' with its erstwhile ally JD(S), senior BJP leader and former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today demanded early polls in the state along with Gujarat.

Talking to newspersons at his native Shikaripur, about 50 km from here, he said the BJP would prefer a fresh mandate from the people as the time for a 'remarriage' with the JD(S) was over.

''There is no question of a realliance with the JD(S) and our demand is that elections be held together with Gujarat,'' he said.

Denying reports that he had held 'secret' talks with former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy last night, Mr Yediyurappa said ''I want to clearly state that the BJP has parted ways with the JD(S) and there will not be any realliance.'' He said the second phase of campaign against the JD(S)' ''betrayal'' would be launched from Haveri tomorrow.
