TN refutes report on land for Metro Rail
Chennai, Oct 14 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu government today refuted media reports that the Chennai central prison premises near the Central railway station will be used for the proposed Metro Rail project.
An official release here clarified that the land would be developed only for public use. The Government had ordered a feasibility study into building a mall, multi-layer parking system and a park. A decision would be taken only after the report was received, it added.
It may be recalled here that the prison was shifted to a modern complex at Puzhal.
