Three arrested for preparing fake documents for passport

Tiruchirapalli, Oct 14 (UNI) Police today arrested three people, including two employees of the Regional Passport Office (RPO) here, for allegedly helping a woman get a passport using fake documents.

Police said one Reena alias Thasima Mariam, hailing from Thanjavur, had filed an application for passport under the tatkal scheme. On verification, officials found that the documents submitted by the applicant were fake.

The RPO authorities preferred a complaint with the police, following which Reena was arrested. Based on her confession, police arrested Durairaj and Vijayanirmala, both employees of the RPO here.

Police were now on the look out for travel agents Ilamparithi of Orathanad in Thanjavur district and Sivakumar of Tiruchirapalli for helping the applicant prepare fake documents.
