Rahul & Firdos showcase Chikankari collection at LFW

Mumbai, Oct 14 (UNI) Designer duo Rahul Mishra and Samar Firdos today showcased their collection on the second day of the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) that is underway at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) here.

Journeying down the unexplored lanes of Lucknow, Rahul and Firdos collection presented the vintage treasure of Chikankari.

The collection consisted of pristine looks, manipulated and flowing patterns.

Describing the innovation giving birth to new rules for pattern-making, they said the patterns are completely derived from the contours of the body. The seam, an integral part of garment construction for thousand years, has completely been eliminated.

Mashru, a fabric developed from the looms of Bhagalpur for this collection, is made of two layers of silk and cotton. It is combined with finest chikankari and modern styling for the collection, the duo explained.

The designers, who endorse the brand Rahul&Firdos, have been bestowed upon the 'Pride of National Institute of Design (NID)' and 'Designer of the Year 2005-06' respectively. They are also winners of 14 accolades (national and international) collectively, four fashion weeks old (3 LFWs and one Rosemount Fashion week).
