Punjab beat Haryana by 9 wickets in C K Nayadu

Patiala, Oct 14 (UNI) Punjab trounced Haryana by nine wickets in the North Zone Inter-District C K Nayadu (Under-22) cricket tournament here today at the Dhruve Pandove Cricket Stadium.

Overnight 96 for 3 in 34 overs, Haryana were all out for 203 in 87 overs. Ankit Rawant scored a painstaking 64 in 134 balls with 8 fours. Sandeep Godara scored a fluent 45 while Sandeep Singh was unbeaten on 37.

For Punjab, N Gogyan bowled superbly to capture 4 wickets, conceding 24 runs. S S Ladda also bowled brilliantly, capturing 3 wickets, giving away 57 runs. Siddharth Kaul took 2 for 62.

Punjab scored the required runs to chalk out a facile victory.

Punjab were 111 for 1 in 22 overs. Sunny Sohal beautifully controlled the innings to score an unbeaten 57. Ravi Inder Singh played a cameo innings of 42.

Prem Prateek captured the lone wicket of Punjab, giving away 13 runs. Punjab earned 5 points and will now play against Delhi here on October 18.
