Police arrests woman with grenade-launcher

Kohima, Oct 14 (UNI) Dimapur police arrested a woman and seized a US-made 40mm grenade launcher from her possession at the Burma Camp area of Dimapur town in Manipur yesterday.

Official sources said here today that the woman was identified as one Luma Apomai, a resident of Khunkhu Naga Village under Senapati district.

The woman confessed that her husband, a constable in the first Naga Armed Police (NAP), procured the weapon from an unidentified Kuki woman and it was to be sold at a price of Rs 2.50 lakh.

Meanwhile, investigation was on to apprehend the other members of the weapon-smuggler gang, the sources added.
