Hyderabad celebrates EID with fervour

Hyderabad, Oct 14: Id-Ul-Fitr was celebrated with religious fervour and enthusiasm by the Muslims in the city and various places all over the State today.

Devotees in large numbers attended and offered special Edgah prayers at different mosques, including historical Mecca Masjid.

The Muslims in entire state celebrated the Eid, marking the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan. Muslims, who exchanged pleasanteries after the Edgah prayers, also gave alms to the poor and organised feasts.

Andhra Pradesh Governor Narayana Dutt Tiwari, Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and several political party leaders greeted the Muslims on the occasion.

Police had made elaborate security arrangements at all the mosques, in view of the recent bomb blasts in the city at Lumbini Park and Gokul Chat and also at hisotorical Mecca Masjid.
