IED recovered in Jorhat after yesterday's blast
Jorhat, Oct 14 (UNI) The Jorhat Police today recovered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) from a house here in Upper Assam after a blast was reported from another part of the town last evening.
Police said the IED was recovered from the staff quarter of a plywood factory, owned by one Makhan Dattani, in Cinnamar area here.
The identity of the tenant of the quarter had not been disclosed yet.
The low-intensity blast was reported from the Rahman road area of the town at about 1930 hrs yesterday.
One person sustained minor injuries and a car was damaged in the blast, police said.
Police suspect it to be the handiwork of ULFA, though the outfit has not owned any responsibility yet.
