Harmony, love mark Eid celebrations in Jammu jail

Jammu, Oct 14 (UNI) Love, harmony and brotherhood among hundreds of inmates marked the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations at district jail, Ambphalla here today.

As religious fervour and festivity gripped the entire Jammu town, the inmates at the District Jail enthusiastically participated in the celebrations in the jail premises, which was filled with chants of 'Eid mubarak'.

''The outer world might have celebrated Eid with fervour and religious enthusiasm but these inmates were in joyous mood and celebrated the festival with communal harmony, peace and brotherhood,'' official sources told UNI.

The sources further said, the atmosphere inside the jail was full of joy and besides Eid celebrations, the members of the majority community also wished their fellows for the ongoing nine-day long holy 'navratras' and distributed sweets.

Meanwhile, cultural programmes were also organised by the inmates and 'badakhana' prepared for the jail staff and rest of the inmates to mark the happy celebrations of Eid, the sources said.
