Demand for regularising daily wagers

Hyderabad, Oct 14 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Daily Wage and Contract Employees Association today demanded regularisation of 80,000 daily wage and contract employees working in various government departments.

Addressing a gathering of the Association, Andhra Pradesh BC Welfare Association President R Krishnaiah demanded that the state government regularise the services of daily wage, part time and contract workers as per the orders of the Supreme Court.

Stating that some of the employees had a service of 20 to 25 years, he alleged that the government was raising invalid reasons for not regularising their services.
