Communal tension in Tonk following molestation

Jaipur, Oct 14 (UNI) Allegation of molestation during a sports event in a higher secondary school turned into a communal clash at Niwai in Tonk district today.

Police said that during a sports event at Saraswati Vidhya Mandir in Nawai, a quarrel broke out between two groups of youth over allegation of molestation of some girl students. The relatives of the girls beat up the boys and it turned into a communal clash.

In retaliation to the beating up of boys, the community members of the boys pelted stones at the school. Tension built up in the area with both the communities coming out on the streets.

The district administration was holding talks with the elders of both the communities to resolve the tension.

Details were awaited.
