Army jawan found hanged in J&K

Jammu, Oct 14 (UNI) A jawan of Army Services Corps (ASC) was found hanging from a ceiling fan in the soldiers' Dining Hall of his unit at Akhnoor, about 30 km from here, early today, official spokesman said.

Divakar Parihar, 23, posted with the 510 ASC battalion, was found dead at 0530 hrs, Defence Spokesman Lt Col S D Goswami told UNI.

The soldier belonged to Rewa in Madhya Pradesh, he said.

An FIR was registered with the police while Army also instituted a Court of Inquiry (COI) to ascertain the facts behind the soldier's death, the spokesman said.
