The city police laid a trap yesterday evening and arrested the Assistant Director Jholanath Satyanath, acting as a middle man, and two models under the Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act.
According to police, Satyanath had brought both the models to a hotel in Pune's camp area.
Senior police inspector Rajendra Bhamare told UNI that when policemen posing as customers, went into the hotel room, the middleman asked for Rs two lakh for a girl.
Both the girls, aged 28 yrs, were from Mumbai's Andheri area.
Refusing to disclose the identities of the models, Police said the girls had appeared in a couple of advertisements too.
All the three were produced in a local court today and remanded to police custody till October 16.
Police said that although the interrogation of Satyanath was on, a bigger prostitution racket, involving many such girls from the glamour world could not be ruled out.
