Two youth suffocated to death

Jalandhar, Oct 13 (UNI) Two youth suffocated to death when they entered a dry gutter to retrieve a plate that had fallen in it, at Basti Baba Khel here last evening, police today said.

ASI Navdeep Singh told UNI that Bechain Mehta and Pooran Chand, both migratory workers, probably had died due to some poisonous gas present inside the nearly 10-foot deep gutter, situated in their temporary hut, when they intered in it to retrieve a plate that had fallen in it.

The exact cause of death could be known only after the postmortem report, he said.
