Somnath congratulates Pachauri on co-winning Nobel Prize

New Delhi, Oct 13 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee today congratulated Dr R K Pachauri, Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which was chosen to share this year's Nobel Peace Prize along with former US vice-president Al Gore.

''The Nobel Peace Prize is as much a recognition to your remarkable contributions in sensitising the global community about this danger'' of global warming as well as the IPCC's committed endeavours to tackle the menace, the Speaker said.

Mr Chatterjee also extended his greetings to the team associated with the IPCC, according to a Lok Sabha secretariat release issued here.
