NIFT centre in Kannur in 2008

Kozhikode, Oct 13 (UNI) The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will set up a centre at Mangattuparamba in Kannur district of Kerala in 2008, its Director Kalpna Swamy said today.

Ms Swamy, in a release here said she was confident of starting classes from the next academic year.

Kerala Industries Minister Elamaram Kareem, whom the three-member team had met last night, had assured assistance on the part of the government.

A feasibility report on the project would be submitted to the Centre. The other members of the team included Prof S R Bharadwaj and NIFT Bangalore Centre Director Devdas.
