Navarathri Brahmotsavam in all grandeur

Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh, Oct 13 (UNI) As part of the nine-day "Navarathri Brahmotsavams" at the Sri Venkateswara Temple here, the processional deity, Sri Malayappa Swamy, was taken around the four mada streets on 'Chinna Sesha Vahanam.' Special poojas were being performed in the temple from 0300 hrs.

Decked in gold ornaments studded with precious stones, Sri Malayappa Swamy was taken in a procession with caparisoned elephants, horses and oxen. Special Bhajanas and dances were also performed by devotees.

Plasma and digital television sets were installed at several places here with Doordarshan telecasting the event live.
