NABARD extends support to potato farmers

Shillong, Oct13 (UNI) The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned a project to the Central Research Station here for popularising low cost storage technology for table potatoes and potato seeds.

A NABARD release here today said the project envisaged providing training to farmers and setting up demonstration units on improved storage practices.

''Proper storage of table potatoes at farm household level for two to three months would help farmers in regulating supply of potatoes,'' the release stated.
