Bhopal, Oct 13 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Forests Minister Vijay Shah has ordered an inquiry into the death of a roughly three-year-old white tiger at Van Vihar National Park here following brief illness.

Ishu died last evening and post-mortem took place at the Park this morning.

''Prima facie, a liver rupture appears to be the cause of death but strangely there was no external wound on the carnivore. Viscera will be sent to Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly-based Indian Veterinary Research Institute and a few other laboratories. The reports might be available in about ten days,'' Park Director Jasveer Singh Chouhan told UNI.

A two-year-old white tiger named Karan died at the Park last year after suffering gastroenteritis. The facility now has three white tigers and a dozen other ones.
